Antigua and Barbuda open more visitor attractions

More tourism experiences have reopened as Antigua and Barbuda report increases in Covid-19 vaccination rates in the country.

Although Antigua and Barbuda is listed as a Level 4 country (very high risk) on the CDC and State Department travel advisories -- as are many Caribbean countries -- close to half of the population is vaccinated, according to the tourism authority.

New opening hours for all 365 beaches on Antigua are from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All water excursions are also officially open, including kayaking; a cruise around Antigua; snorkeling; or a sail to sister island Barbuda to visit the frigate bird sanctuary, among other options.

All land-based tours are operating, as well.

Restaurants have reopened for dine-in service. Current curfew hours are 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

All arriving guests are subject to a mandatory charge of $5 per person, per night, including children six years and older. The fee is added to the hotel bill and is payable upon check-out.
