Grace Bay Club in Turks and Caicos will host a pop-up event by the sushi restaurant Uchi on Dec. 6 to 9. It is the second event for Uchi; the restaurant chain, which originated in Austin, Texas, held the first event in June at Grace Bay.

The a la carte, nontraditional Japanese menu is being curated by Uchi's James Beard Award-winning chef Tyson Cole and will consist of hot and cool tastings: sushi and sashimi, makimono, yakimono, tempura and a changing omakase based on seasonal items.

The event will be held in the resort’s Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar, which Grace Bay says is the Caribbean’s longest bar, stretching 90 feet toward the Atlantic Ocean.

Translated from the Japanese word “home,” the original Uchi, started by Cole in 2003, is located in a refurbished South Austin bungalow. The restaurant now has locations in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Denver and Miami, with plans to open others in Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Ariz.
