Carnival Cruise Line unveiled details of two areas on Celebration Key, a private destination on Grand Bahama expected to open in July 2025.

The brightly colored Paradise Plaza, complete with a rainbow-colored promenade leading guests through a sun-shaped arch, could be an Instagrammable spot on Celebration Key.

Carnival plans to have live music and a Bahamian-themed fountain and ice cream shop in Paradise Plaza, where guests will have a view of Celebration Key's centerpiece -- the 10-story Suncastle with waterslides wrapped around it. The plaza also doubles as a wayfinding point directing guests to various zones on the island.

To the west of Paradise Plaza will be Calypso Lagoon, a spot with a "lively and social atmosphere," Carnival said. The area will feature a sports court, a freshwater pool, loungers, daybeds, cabanas and beach access.

Calypso Lagoon will have several bars, including a pool bar with nearly 50 swings for guests who want to dip their toes in the water. The area will have two full-service restaurants and several casual snack shacks throughout the zone.

A portion of the Calypso Lagoon and adjacent beach will be adults-only areas, with a large swim-up bar and DJ, plus nearby Bahamian food trucks and additional cabanas, daybeds and loungers.

Carnival has announced five areas it calls "portals" at Celebration Key. There's also a family-friendly portal, a private retreat and a retail area. More details about these areas are expected in the coming months, along with information about a second phase of the destination adding a water park and other features.
