Hyatt Hotels Corp. marked the grand opening of the Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor, the first Andaz-branded hotel in Germany and the third in Europe.
The hotel is located in the cultural Schwabing district, near theaters, restaurants and the Englischer Garten, Munich's largest park.
The property features 277 suites and guestrooms overlooking the city and the Alps. Each room offers a mix of contemporary and traditional Bavarian design elements and include custom sofas, created in the style of vintage car seats.
There is a video installation by artist Yves Peitzner in the lobby, and stone and herringbone oak floors, diamond-patterned ceilings, copper accents and leather sofas are all a nod to Munich's design style. The Andaz Lounge is furnished with a golden pretzel-shaped seat made from a cast bronze alloy and produced by a local Munich art foundry.
Eateries include the Lonely Broccoli dining room, serving local and seasonal cuisine, Bicicletta for artisanal coffee and juice and featuring bar stools shaped like bicycle seats and Cafe M for all-day, deli dining. The M'Uniqo rooftop bar offers botanical-infused cocktails, live music and a panoramic view of the city and the Alps.
The Andaz Spa, one of the city's largest, offers massages, body rituals, facials and aromatherapy as well as a 55-foot-long swimming pool and a full-service, 24-hour gym.
Finally, the property offers more than 21,000 square feet of meetings space, including studios and a ballroom. In a nod to the hotel's proximity to the Englischer Garten, the property features a vertical garden in the meetings space.
