Hawaiian Airlines has announced new daily nonstop service between San Diego and Maui starting in 2018.

The flights from San Diego International Airport to Maui's Kahului Airport will begin May 1 and utilize the new Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The airline also announced four new daily summer flights coming in 2018, including between Los Angeles and Maui, San Francisco and Honolulu, Oakland and Kona, and their first service between Tokyo Narita and Honolulu.

"We are delighted to offer travelers more options to visit our islands next summer," Peter Ingram, Hawaiian's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said in a statement. "Guests will start their Hawaiian vacation the moment they step onboard our aircraft and experience our award-winning warm hospitality."
