The first Atlantis resort in the U.S. is coming to Hawaii after a California group purchased two oceanfront parcels for $216 million.

The resort is planned to be built on a vacant 26.3-acre plot of land next to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa on the west side of Oahu. The other Atlantis resorts are in the Bahamas and Dubai.

California-based Newage Ko Olina purchased the land, along with a second 17.3-acre oceanfront parcel, from China Oceanwide, according to Pacific Business News.

The Atlantis resort project was originally pitched 20 years ago, but the plan was abandoned. Newage Ko Olina wants to now move forward with the $2 billion development.

Pacific Business News reported that the Atlantis resort will have 500 rooms and 500 condos, and the timeline for building the hotel is roughly five years.
