Big Island activity provider KapohoKine Adventures has announced plans to move its flagship store from downtown Hilo into the new lobby of Grand Naniloa Hilo, a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
The move is part of the $18.5 million ongoing renovation at the hotel and will make KapohoKine the exclusive activity provider for the property. The operator expects to begin selling activities from its new headquarters April 1.
“We are thrilled to have been asked by Grand Naniloa Hilo to be part of its new venture on Banyan Drive,” Tony DeLellis, owner of KapohoKine Adventures, said in a statement. “We have spent 12 years building a solid base of adventure tours that incorporate Hawaii Island’s natural environment and host culture, so having the opportunity to educate a much larger number of visitors about the importance and value of sustainable tourism is exciting.”
KapohoKine Adventures offers zipline products along with tours of Waipio Valley, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and lava expeditions.
The company will continue to operate products on both the eastern Hilo side of the Big Island and the western Kona coast.
