One of the first events Hawaii visitors can look forward to when they begin to return next month is the third annual Poke Fest, which takes place on Oct. 17, albeit in a new format for this year.

To meet current health and social distancing requirements, the event dedicated to promoting the popular marinated raw fish will be a drive-through. Fish fiends can preorder their poke and select a pick-up time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 17. Curbside pickup will be available at Ward Village, at 210 Ward Ave.

Produced by Fresh Island Fish, the festival will feature eight poke shops from across Oahu all offering their own spin on the Hawaiian staple. Other items, such as treats from Hawaiian Pie Co., will also be available.

Even though the event has adapted to emergency orders, there will still be entertainment from a DJ as well as a drive-through commemorative photo booth.
