The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua will host Whale Tales Feb. 14-17, a series of events, presentations, and benefits in conjunction with the Whale Trust revolving around the annual winter humpback whale migration.
It is the 14th year for the event at the peak of whale season. The four days of programming feature talks on cetaceans and the ocean environment, underwater photography and video of whales, immersive educational presentations by marine research and conservation organizations and a Benefit Whale Watch.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua has been home to the event nearly every year since its inception in 2006. Admission to Whale Tales presentations and the Marine Science Center is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $20 per person to support Whale Tales 2020 Beneficiaries. Benefit Whale Watch tickets start at $65 per person.
The Whale Trust is a Maui-based non profit organization whose mission is to promote, support, and conduct scientific research on whales and the marine environment, and share information with the public. Whale Tales raises funds to support whale research in Hawaii, contributing more than $725,000 for research in Hawaii and Alaska in 13 years.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is also offering the Whale Tales package which includes accommodations, Whale Tales whale watch for two, an "Ambassadors of the Environment" eco-adventure for two, and access to the complimentary Whale Tale events Feb 14-17. The package is available for stays between Feb. 12 to 19 and must be booked by Feb. 7.
