The eighth installment of the Westin Princeville Jazz and Wine Festival is scheduled for Sept. 16.

The event held at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas on Kauai's north shore is a celebration of music, food and wine. Participating chefs hail from the Westin Princeville's own Nanea Restaurant & Bar as well as the Kauai Marriott Resort, Hukilau Lanai, Piazza and April's Aloha Cakes. There will be more than 30 wines available to pair with the various dishes, and the evening's entertainment includes taiko drumming by Joyful Noise, a ukulele jazz performance by Benny Chong and a featured performance by Adagio, an Oahu-based band blending R&B, soul, pop and jazz.

Proceeds from the festival's annual silent auction, which includes hotel stays, plane tickets, island activities, restaurant gift certificates and more, go to the Kauai Lifeguard Association.

The Jazz and Wine Festival is held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the Westin Princeville's main lawn with a view of Anini Beach. Tickets cost $100 per person and include a souvenir Jazz and Wine Festival wine glass, food, wine and nonalcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity.
