A good vacation means many things to different people. For those who can’t sit still, and prefer a good sweat to a fruity cocktail, luxury resorts are responding with packages that will let them take their workouts to a new level with world-class athletes.

In Colorado, Beaver Creek’s Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa is offering one-on-one triathlon training getaways with Xterra world champion Josiah Middaugh, an 11-time Xterra USA national champion and six-time USSSA national snowshoe champion who recently won the Xterra Argentina race.

With rates starting at $1,015 per night in a one-bedroom suite, the Westin Riverfront Champions of Luxury Package includes three hours of personal of training with Middaugh – one in the pool, one on a CompuTrainer bike and a one-hour gym session – as well as a 100-minute Rocky Mountain Sports Massage at Spa Anjali, a Fitbit activity tracker and a $100 Starwood SuperFoods dining credit.

The package will be available through the end of 2016 and are based on Middaugh’s availability.

In Los Cabos, Mexico, the One&Only Palmilla next month is offering a four-day Live Life Alive health and wellness package that include stand-up paddleboarding and high-intensity workouts with athletes such as big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton and fitness expert and Olympic beach volleyball champion Gabrielle Reece.

The package, offered from June 10 to 13, includes HighX explosive circuit training, a high-intensity conditioning program designed to burn fat, build muscle and optimize hormone and physiological responses to exercise by Reece and Team USA Olympian rower Erin MacKenzie.

Hamilton, Team USA stand-up paddleboard racer and surfer Chuck Glynn and endurance champion Brian MacKenzie will lead an Xpt pool-training water workout that includes breathing exercises and rejuvenating heat and ice routines.

The program also includes a daily nutrition program, with custom-designed menus by chefs Larbi Dahrouch and Yoshi Akaike, as well as a welcome dinner with the athletes and complimentary, three-piece weekend fitness outfits supplied by Laird Apparel and Eden Activewear.

Rates start at $2,747 for one person and $3,900 for two for accommodations in an oceanfront room.
