With tourism dollars at an all-time low and wildlife poaching on the rise in formerly "safely touristed" game reserves, a conservation and humanitarian crisis is exploding in Africa right now.

To inspire, uplift and provide up-to-date knowledge from some of the world's leading conservation experts, Extraordinary Journeys launched a series of virtual events, titled "Live From Africa," to raise awareness of the current state of affairs of the affected wildlife, communities and conservation efforts to protect the world's most threatened habitats and species.

From leading conservation experts, Masai tribal leaders and safari guides, the virtual events are meant to educate and provide light on a crisis that has worldwide repercussions. The events will run throughout May and into summer. All start times are noon Eastern.

Upcoming events include:

• May 29: National Geographic Husband/Wife Team, the Jouberts, Talks Big Cat Initiatives and Conservation Filmmaking.

• June 4: Discover the Most Iconic Safari Spot - Kenya's Maasai Mara - with Joseph Mpoe.

• June 10: Beks Ndlovu's Botswana and Zimbabwe Tented Camps Talks Future of Safaris.

The virtual events are free, but for those who can provide a donation to the Extraordinary Journeys Relief Fund, the operator will match each donation and provide consumers up to $150 per person credit toward any future trip with them. Donations will be awarded to projects that benefit local communities and protect threatened and endangered wildlife.
