The Radisson Hotel Group added a number of hotels to its Africa inventory in the first nine months of 2019, accelerating its expansion across the continent and bringing its portfolio to almost 100 hotels across 32 African countries.

To date this year, Radisson Hotel Group has opened two hotels in Africa: the Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Center, Niamey, the first five-star international brand hotel in Niger, and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra, marking the company's debut in Algeria. Radisson Hotel Group is scheduled to open two more hotels before year's end, with the opening of its third hotel in Kenya, the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence Nairobi Arboretum, in October and the Radisson Blu Hotel Casablanca, scheduled to open in Morocco's largest city in November. It will be the group's first entry in the city.

The remaining new hotel deals include the Radisson RED Johannesburg Rosebank, South Africa, scheduled to open in February 2021; Radisson Hotel La Baie d'Alger Algiers, Algeria, scheduled to open in 2022; three hotels in Madagascar: the Radisson Blu Hotel Antananarivo Waterfront, the Radisson Hotel Antananarivo Waterfront and Radisson Serviced Apartments Antananarivo City Center; and six properties in Egypt.
