Mexican restaurant in the works at Wynn Las Vegas

The creative team behind New York's acclaimed Cosme restaurant has formed a partnership with Wynn Las Vegas to open a Mexican restaurant at the resort.

Enrique Olvera, Daniela Soto-Innes, and Santiago Perez were winners of the James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant Award for Cosme when it opened in 2015. Olvera is a chef, cookbook author, and owner of the restaurant Pujol in Mexico City. Soto-Innes recently received the Elit Vodka World's Best Female Chef award and also took home the 2016 James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year honors, and Perez is an investment banker turned restaurateur.

The team is developing a restaurant that combines a menu based on authentic Mexican flavors with a high-energy social atmosphere. The venue has yet to be given a name.

"We're thrilled to join Las Vegas, a vibrant and exciting city that knows the art of a great party," Olvera said in a statement. "Our goal is to create a restaurant that embraces the showmanship of the city not just with celebratory food but also in the design and ambience."

The restaurant is expected to open at Wynn Las Vegas the first quarter of 2020, in the space currently occupied by Andrea's.
