Through an ongoing partnership with the Sitka-based Alaska Raptor Center and Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, Kawanti Adventures will offer a new raptor flight experience in 2019.

Kawanti's three-hour Eagles, Raptors & Rainforest Experience begins and ends in Ketchikan. The tour travels 10 scenic miles to the 40-acre Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, where participants take a guided nature walk and visit the 1,500-square-foot flight auditorium that the sanctuary opened last summer. There, Alaska Raptor Center staff members host live bird demonstrations; they'll also answer questions in the custom-built raptor courtyard, where guests can view bald eagles and other birds.

A portion of tour proceeds supports wild bird rehabilitation, research and educational programs at the nonprofit Alaska Raptor Center.
