It's the most wonderful time of the year. And if you're staying at the Palms Casino Resort, it just got a little bit better. Or at least fuller.
The resort recently debuted its new buffet, fittingly dubbed AYCE. Living up to that explanatory name, the buffet serves an all-you-can-eat array of international cuisine in a food hall setting where guests visit seven stations serving everything from oxtail poutine to papaya salad to ice cream tacos.
Centered around a large rotisserie and wood-burning grill, the Roastery station offers dishes like porchetta, French onion sliders and curry cauliflower heads. At the Hearth, a brick oven turns out duck cassoulet and fresh pizza, while Smoke & Fire serves barbecue ribs and smoked brisket. For guests who'd like some lighter fare with their fries and pies, the Greenery provides salads and antipasti, and Revival dishes up health-focused fare like fresh-pressed juices and zucchini noodles. Rounding out the landscape are stations serving international dishes and desserts.
AYCE is one of the first reveals from phase one of the Palms' $485-million renovation under its new owner, Station Casinos. Expected to be completed early next year, phase one will also encompass a redesigned casino floor, a new steakhouse, a rooftop nightclub, 18,000 square feet of renovated meetings space and an update to the on-site cinema. Slated to debut in late 2018 or early 2019, phase two will bring redesigned Fantasy Tower hotel rooms, a new nightclub, an expansive pool club and a slate of new restaurants from well-known chefs and a new 20,000-square-foot spa and salon.
That means the buffet isn't just a new dining option at the off-Strip resort, it's a harbinger of things to come.
