Amadeus
River Cruises introduced its newest ship, the Amadeus Imperial,
during a ceremony in Amsterdam.
Amadeus
co-founder Martina Lueftner was the ship’s godmother. She christened the vessel
Monday along with her husband and company co-founder Wolfgang Lueftner and
their three daughters.
The
Amadeus Imperial then embarked on its maiden voyage, a seven-day
sailing to Basel, Switzerland.
The
ship is the 15th vessel in the Amadeus fleet. Currently, however,
the Germany-based company is sailing just six ships due to Europe’s
Covid-19-related ban on American travelers.
The
Amadeus Imperial will cruise the Danube, Rhine, Main and the Dutch & Belgian
waterways.
The
ship has 12 suites and 72 cabins. Most of the cabins feature drop-down
panoramic windows while the suites have outdoor balconies with seating areas.
