Canadian discount carrier Lynx Air has launched its third route to the U.S.
Lynx is now flying three times weekly between its home base in Calgary, Alberta, and Los Angeles.

The LAX service introduction followed Lynx's U.S. debut last month with four-times-weekly flights between Toronto and Orlando. The carrier also launched thrice-weekly Calgary-Phoenix flights on Feb. 7. A fourth U.S. Lynx service, connecting Calgary with Las Vegas four times per week, will begin Feb. 24.
Lynx began operating on domestic Canada routes last April and has thus far taken delivery of six Boeing 737 Max-8 aircraft, according to Planespotters.net. The aircraft are configured with 189 economy seats, including some seats that offer extra legroom. For comparison purposes, Southwest has 175 seats on its single cabin Max-8 planes.

In addition to its U.S. stations, Lynx flies to eight Canadian cities.
For the most part, the carrier operates under an ultralow-cost business model, with fees for carry-on and checked bags, as well as advance seat selection and phone bookings. Change fees are also assessed on per-segment basis.
