United Airlines has resumed flights after briefly halting all departures due to a systemwide technology problem.

"We have identified a fix for the technology issue and flights have resumed," the carrier said in statement on the social media platform X (formerly called Twitter). "We're working with impacted customers to help them reach their destinations as soon as possible."

The announcement came 23 minutes after United tweeted an announcement that the ground stoppage had taken effect.

The airline hasn't provided details on the IT problem.

According to FlightAware, United had delayed 260 flights on Tuesday as of 2:15 Eastern time, or 9% of its mainline schedule. The carrier has canceled just seven mainline flights. United Express regional operations are not included in those numbers.
