PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Hertz rolled out a product line called the
Hertz Prestige Collection, which offers renters some exotic and
upscale models from Jaguar, Lincoln, Land Rover and Volvo.
The
Prestige Collection, which launched June 1, is to be available in
20 North American markets, expanding to some European and
Australian cities in 2002. Another 19 North American markets are to
be added by the end of 2003.
The four vehicle brands are part of the Premier Automotive Group
of Ford Motor Co., which wholly owns Hertz.
Customers can specify the make and model of car instead of
merely reserving a car class. So if a client wants a Jaguar S-type,
that's what they'll get.
Employees at the rental facility are trained to assist customers
with any questions about the vehicles, and the company will provide
free pick-up and return service at hotels within 15 miles of the
rental location.
Vehicles come with Hertz's NeverLost navigational device, which
is complimentary.
The initial markets are Atlanta; Chicago; Boston; Los Angeles;
San Francisco; San Diego; Dallas; Denver; Phoenix; Las Vegas;
Washington; Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm
Beach, Fla., and Orange County, Calif., in the U.S., along with
Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver in Canada.
The Prestige Collection also has a dedicated reservations
number, (800) 654-2250, which agents can call for bookings. To book
through the CRS, agents need to use the key word Prestige.
