Accor is taking over operations of the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) in Dubai. The cruise ship-turned-floating hotel will join Accor's MGallery collection.
The former Cunard Line ship was retired in 2008 and sold to PCFC Investments, a corporation owned by the Dubai government. PCFC opened the retired ocean liner as a hotel in 2018.
Accor will take over the QE2's operations starting in this month. The ship will undergo further renovations prior to joining the MGallery portfolio.
Once the refresh is completed, the floating property will feature 447 hotel rooms, nine food-and-beverage venues, more than 60,000 square feet of outdoor event space and a swimming pool and gym, among other amenities.
In a statement, Accor said that the QE2 would "become a landmark property for the MGallery brand."
The MGallery collection has about 110 properties worldwide.
