Disney said reservations for its Star
Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel will open later this year. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2021 at the Walt Disney
World Resort in Florida.
Pricing and the opening date have yet to be released. Disney
is encouraging people to sign up online to receive more information when it’s
available.
The hotel will offer two-day, two-night immersive vacation
experiences for guests. Its setting is on the Halycon starcruiser. Guests will
take a “launch pod” to the hotel, accompanied by droids and an alien crew. The
windows will feature views of space.
The vacation experience will also include a “shore
excursion” to land, specifically the planet of Batuu, the setting of the Star
Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a completely new type of
experience,” Ann Morrow Johnson, executive producer for Walt Disney
Imagineering, said in a post on the Disney Parks Blog. “You’re going to live
onboard a star cruiser … and you can get wrapped up in the larger Star Wars
story.”
