Disney World is building a resort on the shoreline of Bay Lake, between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

In addition to 900 hotel rooms, the "nature-inspired" resort will have Disney Vacation Club villas. It will be Disney's 16th Disney Vacation Club property.

Disney hasn't named the resort yet.

The Bay Lake project adds to Disney's large hotel expansion in Florida.

A new 15-story tower with 545 guestrooms and a rooftop restaurant will open at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in 2019. Disney said the existing 1,800 guest rooms have been updated with new fixtures, furnishings and a color palette that ties the entire resort together.

The Riviera Resort, a Disney Vacation Club property under construction near Epcot, is expected to open in 2019 with 300 units.

A Star Wars-themed hotel will be built next to the highly anticipated Star Wars theme park area at Disney's Hollywood Studios (opening in fall 2019). The Star Wars hotel does not have a confirmed opening date.

In all, Disney World will add some 1,700 hotel rooms and Vacation Club units over the next four years.
