Walt Disney World has pushed back plans to resume operations at its Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for a second time, recently announcing that the property won't reopen until summer 2021.

The resort was originally set to welcome guests back in mid-August, though Disney postponed that plan this summer, targeting an Oct. 4 reopening instead.

Disney attributed the further delay to "ongoing refurbishments" being made at the Polynesian Village Resort's Great Ceremonial House lobby.

The company said it would temporarily suspend monorail service to the resort starting in early October.

Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, which is part of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts network, will remain in operation.

Walt Disney World recently announced that it would be cutting back on its theme park operating hours this fall, with the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios set to close an hour earlier, Epcot slated to close two hours earlier and Animal Kingdom to open an hour later and close an hour earlier starting Sept. 8.
