Kimpton's first Europe hotel will open in Amsterdam as the De Witt

|

Europe's first hotel under InterContinental Hotels Group's (IHG) Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will open this spring as the De Witt and will include features such as an open-air flower shop in its courtyard and a 16th-century house that can be rented for private groups.

The De Witt, which previously flew under IHG's Crowne Plaza flag, will have 274 rooms and an eatery called Wyers Bar & Restaurant. The property, which was built out of three adjoining Renaissance-era buildings, will also have a walk-up window serving coffee and beignets.

Additionally, the hotel includes the four-story "Little House" that was the childhood home of Dutch playwright P.C. Hooft that the hotel will rent out to private groups.

Kimpton, which was acquired by IHG in early 2015, announced plans for its first Europe hotel a year ago. The boutique hotel company, which oversees more than 60 hotels, is slated to open a Paris property in 2020. The company opened Grand Cayman's Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa, the division's first non-U.S. hotel, in November.
