The Protea Hotel Kruger Gate in South Africa is parting ways with Marriott International, announcing plans to operate independently as the Kruger Gate Hotel starting Sept. 1.

The hotel, which has been Marriott-managed for the past 20 years, will be operated by Platinum Hospitality Holdings moving forward.

Anton Gillis, who will be taking the reins as the Kruger Gate Hotel's CEO of hotel operations, said in a statement that "all reservations, current and future, remain unchanged."

Located along the Sabie River near Kruger National Park's Paul Kruger Gate, the lodge-style Kruger Gate Hotel features an infinity pool and pool bar, two restaurants, a coffee shop, a spa and a fitness center.
