NEW YORK -- This summer might be a good time to take the train to
the plains in Spain, as Eurail Group slashes up to $130 on most of
its Eurail Passes good for rail travel across the Continent.
"This Summer Sale is our way of saying 'Welcome to Europe," said
Erik A. Mollen, managing director of Eurail Group, in a statement.
"We want to give travel agents something very positive to talk
about and sell as they rebuild business to Europe."
The Summer Sale applies to rail passes purchased by June 15 and
valid for travel through Aug. 20.
The three-tier Summer Sale works this way: For passes normally
priced between $401 and $500, the savings is $60; for passes
normally priced $501-$700, the savings is $80; and for passes
normally priced above $700, the savings is $130.
Travel agents can book Summer Sale passes through authorized
sales agents -- who pay varying commissions -- and, soon, directly
at www.eurail.com.
