KEENE, N.H. -- Reacting to the escalating SARS outbreak in parts of Asia, General Tours suspended its tours to China, Hong Kong and Vietnam through December.

"Repeated U.S. government travel warnings make it clear that this is not the time to travel to China, Hong Kong and Vietnam," says Bob Drumm, president of General Tours.

The operator said it would fully refund all customer payments on its travel programs to the Asian countries for the balance of this year.

Over the past several weeks, the State Department has issued SARS-related travel warnings advising U.S. citizens to defer travel to Hong Kong and China.
