Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours unveiled three new itineraries for next year.
The tour operator is offering its first active tour, a new American Revolution itinerary and a World War II history trip.
The "Lewis And Clark Adventure Tour" will have two departure dates in July and August, taking travelers to Montana and Idaho, following in the footsteps of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. This itinerary will include canoeing, hiking and camping along Lewis and Clark's expedition route. Travelers will have their tents and camps set up for them, and meals prepared for them.
"Revolutionary War: The Campaigns of George Washington" will have one departure date in October, traveling from West Point, N.Y. to Philadelphia, following George Washington's battle route.
"SOE: Churchill's Spies" will operate in April, taking guests to England, where they will visit London and the nearby countryside to learn about Britain's espionage in WWII. The Special Operations Executive, or SOE, was formed in 1940 to conduct espionage and sabotage on German-occupied Europe.
"We do not tell a snippet of the story; we tell the whole story, and offering these three tours allows us to continue to add depth to the stories our tours already tell about Lewis and Clark, the Revolutionary War and WWII," said company president Talia Ambrose.
World War II author Stephen E. Ambrose founded the tour company. Ambrose's books include "D-Day: June 6, 1944," "Band of Brothers" and "Undaunted Courage." He was a co-executive producer of the HBO series "Band of Brothers," which was based on his bestselling book.
