Younger travelers have been and are widely expected to continue leading the return to leisure travel. And a new survey from the millennial-focused travel company Contiki shows just how desperate they are to get back on the road.

The poll of travelers ages 18 to 35 found 63% want to travel this year, 58% would travel right now even if it meant having to pay for quarantine when they return home and 71% said they would get a Covid-19 vaccine to be able to use their passport again.

The CEO talks about the youth market and his vision for the brand.

Notably,  a full 40% of the travelers from the generation that was practically born with phones in hand said they would happily spend a week or so without tech to travel again and reconnect with people.

The biggest barrier for the youth market is the risk of cancellation due to unpredictable border rules, the survey showed. Eight-six percent said a money-back guarantee is more important than discounts.

Contiki said the poll of 1,400 travelers in its global database was conducted Dec. 12 though Jan. 7.
