Sabre CEO Sean Menke has been elected chair of the company's board, effective April 28.
Current board chair Karl Peterson will remain on the board of directors.
Also, board member Gregg Saretsky has been elected independent lead director, while longtime board member Gary Kusin has retired.
Menke joined Sabre in 2015. He was named CEO in 2016 and has been on the board since then. Before Sabre, he held leadership roles at a number of airlines.
"Under Sean's leadership, Sabre is making strategic moves to help position the company for long-term, profitable growth," Peterson said in a statement. "The company has achieved significant milestones in technology transformation, strengthened its financial position and maintained key customer relationships -- all during unprecedented times and in the face of significant headwinds."
Peterson added that the separation of the president and CEO roles at Sabre will also help Menke focus on long-term strategic plans.
