Bonaire has replaced its current room tax and car rental tax with a $75 visitor entry tax for all visitors 13 years and over. Those 12 and under pay $10.

Visitors are encouraged to pay the mandatory tax digitally at bonaireisland.com in advance of their trip, although the tax can be paid upon arrival at Flamingo International Airport.

These taxes previously were paid per person, per night to the accommodation and car rental company. The new, flat tax applies to visitors staying for any length of time.

Tourism Corporation Bonaire supports this move, which is designed to streamline the entry process for visitors and the country's tourism partners, according to CEO Miles Mercera.

Bonaire has lifted all entry testing protocols and requires just a health declaration form to be filled out and handed to immigration upon arrival.
