Dominican Republic airline Arajet debuted twice-weekly flights from Santo Domingo to Kingston, Jamaica, on Nov. 14.

The airline currently flies from Santo Domingo's Las Americas International Airport to Caribbean destinations St. Martin, Curacao and Aruba.

In March, when the ultralow-cost carrier took possession of its first Boeing 737 Max-8 jets, the airline's financial backers said the carrier would launch U.S. routes later this year from cities with significant Dominican populations, including New York, Boston, Miami and Chicago.
