May 14 is a big day for Sandals Resorts International as two more of its resorts are slated to reopen simultaneously: Sandals Barbados and the adjacent sister property Sandals Royal Barbados.
Sandals Barbados opened in January 2015 with 280 rooms set on seven acres, while its sibling Sandals Royal Barbados, debuted in December 2017 with 222 suites on 14 acres.

Sandals Barbados reopens on May 14.
But Sandals isn't sitting still: The room inventory at Sandals Royal Barbados will grow by 66 new suites in its South Seas Village expansion, which includes the brand's signature Rondoval suites and the Skypool and Crystal Lagoon swim-up suites. The expansion is set to debut this summer.
The resorts complement one other. Guests staying at either have the option of more than 17 restaurants, numerous bars, two spas, two beaches and six pools with no barriers or restrictions between the two properties. A stone walkway bordered by flowers connects the two.
Rates at Sandals Barbados start at $252 per person, per night, double and at $325 per person, per night, double at Sandals Royal Barbados.
The last remaining resort in the Sandals and Beaches portfolio to reopen is Sandals Royal Bahamian, slated to reopen in November.
