The dates are set for 24th installment of the Honolulu Festival, held at the Hawaii Convention Center, Ala Moana Center and Waikiki Beach Boardwalk from March 9 to 11.

The free celebration of Asia-Pacific culture includes food, music, dance, arts, crafts, exhibits, special presentations, a parade and fireworks show.

This year's theme for the festival presented by the Honolulu Festival Foundation is "Harmony over the Ocean, Journey to Peace," with the goal of strengthening cultural and ethnic ties between Asia Pacific and Hawaii peoples.

"Hawaii is such a diverse place with much cultural influence from the Pacific Rim. We are excited to bring a taste of that culture to the Island for locals and visitors of Hawaii to experience," said Tsukasa Harufuku, president of the Honolulu Festival Foundation.

The festivities wrap up on Sunday with the grand parade down Kalakaua Avenue followed by a fireworks show over Waikiki Beach.

The Honolulu Festival Foundation supports educational and cultural programs for the benefit of Hawaii's school children and the community-at-large through public outreach and charitable efforts. The schedule also includes the ticketed Friendship Gala ($90 per person; ($70 under age 21; free age 6 and under), a charity event for the foundation's endeavors featuring cuisine from notable Oahu restaurants and live entertainment.
