Honolulu's Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum will be celebrating science throughout next month with a packed schedule of special activities and guest presentations.

The Hi-Sci Festival includes programming on science, technology, engineering math and the arts with a focus on Hawaiian and Pacific culture. The event includes exclusive planetarium shows and presentations by scientists and crew members of the Hokulea sailing canoe.

The highlight of the month of programming is the Fall in Love with Science Discovery Day, March 18, and annual occasion featuring reduced admission prices and special science-related hands-on activities, talks and demonstrations highlighting Hawaii's biodiversity.

Other events on the schedule include a screening of the documentary film "Chasing Coral,"  a talk by Bishop Museum zoologist Rich Pyle on life in the deep coral reefs of the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, and a presentation on the real "Moana" story of how Polynesians settled the Eastern Pacific.

PlutoPalooza will offer the opportunity to the meet the team of scientists who collaborated on NASA's New Horizons probe and its six-month reconnaissance flyby of Pluto and its moons.
