The Hawaii Tourism Authority has named Pattie Herman vice president of marketing and product development.

Herman will officially assume the role Dec. 2, according to an HTA release, taking responsibility for supporting HTA programs to sustainably manage Hawaii tourism, including overseeing branding strategy and planning, and the development of new products.

Herman brings more than four decades of managerial experience in Hawaii's tourism industry to the position, most recently working as director of sales and marketing for Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. She also formerly served as area director of sales and marketing, Asia, for Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii.

"In addition to having a long and successful career in the visitor industry, Pattie's experience and success in the Asia market will be vital as we continue to focus on this high-spend traveler," Chris Tatum, HTA president and CEO, said in a statement.
