The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) has appointed Jennifer Chun director of tourism research.
Chun, who will formerly take the position Dec. 1, joined HTA in 2014 as tourism research manager. She previously spent a decade at Hospitality Advisors, a Hawaiian hotel, tourism and real estate consulting firm.
She will lead HTA's Tourism Research Division, charged with providing strategic analytical information about Hawaii tourism and executing research projects that supports state development efforts.
"Jennifer is one of Hawaii's top research experts for tourism strategy and has a keen understanding of how gathering and analyzing this data is essential to improving the industry's future, both in supporting the business models of companies statewide and evaluating the sentiments of the community," George D. Szigeti, HTA president and CEO, said in a statement.
HTA's Tourism Research Division publishes monthly visitor statistics, airline seat outlook, annual visitor research, and quarterly timeshare reports among other studies.
