Chris Tatum has announced he will retire as president and
CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA).

Tatum was appointed to the position in December 2018,
following a four-decade career with Marriott International. His last day at the
HTA will be Aug. 31.
“I’m very proud of the HTA team and our refocused plans to
develop a balanced strategy for tourism,” he said in a statement. “I plan to spend the next three months working with the
HTA board on the transition and supporting the state’s recovery efforts.”
The HTA has not named a successor.
