Hawaiian Airlines, which offers complimentary meals on all trans-Pacific flights, has revealed a new menu.
Main cabin passengers on North American routes will now have meals crafted under the airline's new Pau Hana Cafe brand. The revamped service, which took guest feedback into account, is being launched in anticipation of the 2018 debut of Hawaiian's fleet of A321neo aircraft.
"Our complimentary in-flight meals have been a hallmark of the authentic and warm hospitality our guests have enjoyed for decades," Avi Mannis, Hawaiian Airlines' senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "In adapting our meal program for the narrow-body A321neos, we found that our guests highly value opportunities to interact with our in-flight crew, so we added more service touch-points during their travel."
The Pau Hana Cafe meals consist of a continental breakfast box for brunch and hot sandwich and side for lunch. The meal service will be followed by coffee and dessert. Passengers can also try the Koloa Breeze cocktail, featuring Kauai's Koloa Rum and a new signature Pau Hana snack mix.
First class passengers will still be served by the airline's Featured Chef Series guided by the company's executive chef, Chai Chaowasaree. Wade Ueoka of MW Restaurant in Honolulu is the featured guest chef through June 2018, and his menu includes a cold tofu salad and ground beef and Portuguese sausage meatloaf.
