Hilton Waikoloa Village has tapped Christopher Anderson as the resort's new director of sales.

Anderson will assume responsibility for group sales initiatives for the property on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island.

Anderson has served as an executive in hospitality for more than 16 years, most recently holding the position of director of sale at Hilton Anaheim. Previously, he was associate director of sales at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill and Grand Hyatt Washington, and was director of sales for the Huntington Beach Marketing and Visitor Bureau.

"Christopher has proven successful in some of the most competitive visitor markets in the nation," David Givens, general manager of Hilton Waikoloa Village, said in a statement. "He brings out the best our resort has to offer with his drive to create exceptional experiences for our group, meetings, and incentive customers. We are excited to have him as part of our team."

The new post marks a return to the Aloha State for Anderson who oversaw group sales at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa as their group sales manager.
