A Keiki Hoolaulea (kids' block party) and conch-blowing contest is on tap for Honolulu in mid-September.

The Pearlridge Center will host a day of fun and activities for children Sept. 14, including live music, hula performances, demonstrations and other activities. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the conch blowing competition will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Keiki Hoolaulea is part of the Aloha Festivals, which promote the aloha spirit through Hawaiian culture and the celebration of the diverse customs and traditions of Hawaii.
