The Kahala Hotel and Resort has made two new appointments to its management staff.

First, Joe Ibarra is taking over as resort manager after serving in the role of director of rooms since 2015. In his new position he will oversee the front office, housekeeping, engineering, security, the spa and recreation department. Ibarra, who was born and raised on Oahu, first joined Kahala in 2014 as director of front office operations. Prior to that he worked in management at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa, The Waikiki edition Hotel and Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.

The Kahala also named another Oahu native, Steven Tabiolo, as director of front office operations, responsible for the front desk, concierge, guest services and other departments. He has worked in hospitality and front office management for more than three decades, previously serving at the Halekulani, Fairmont Kea Lani and Outrigger Wailea.

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a 338-room oceanfront property with five restaurants and a resident dolphin show situated west of Waikiki.
