Historic Kailua-Kona on the Island of Hawaii's western coast is holding special monthly Sunday events throughout 2018.

Kailua Village's Alii Drive will be closed to auto traffic so pedestrians can meander the outdoor marketplace, explore the more than 100 vendor booths, grab a bite from the plethora of food stands, and browse the shops in the town center.

The program also includes free live Hawaiian entertainment starting at 4 p.m. at Hulihee Palace.

The Sunday strolls run from 1 to 6 p.m. and will be held in 2018 on Feb. 18,  March 18, April 15, May 20, June 10, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
