Travelers to Hawaii looking for a personal reset in time for New Year's resolutions for a new decade will find a double dose of wellness experts at a special retreat hosted by the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
'The retreat led by Lindsay Rielly and Pete Bone will be held Dec. 6 to 9 at the north Maui resort, and will include a range of experiences designed to refocus and replenish participants' minds and bodies, including meditation, yoga, themed dinners and nightly cocktail gatherings with live entertainment.
The activities kick off the morning of Dec. 6 with a Yoga and Meditation session before heading into the first groups workshops with Rielly and Bone. The schedule also includes a beach walk, a nature hike and group activities like shuffleboard and tennis. During the course of the immersive workshop, participants are encouraged to reflect on their goals for 2020 and beyond, and the weekend closes with an early New Year's Eve party.
Interspersed with the social events are workshops on self-empowerment, positive mindset, finding joy in life and strategies for both setting and reaching goals.
Rielly worked for nearly two decades in Los Angeles in talent management, and over time she developed a life coaching curriculum while working with her private clients before founding her company, Live Your Standard.
"I think of myself as a guide, leading people to their inner super power," she said. "What I came to realize with my clients in entertainment, and people in general, is that people could be very conditional in their experience of life. Maybe they're doing great in business ... but they're quite unhappy. They're not thriving and just surviving. ... It's about maintaining perspective and happiness and staying in alignment with the best version of myself."
She works with clients on emotional balance, optimal health and well being, personal healing, and a variety of other areas including mindfulness exercises.
"I like to keep it experiential and exciting, and for people to go into it without knowing all the details," she said. "I find it's more impactful that way. ... I work with guided meditation and guided imagery. These are tools that you can use for the rest of your life."
Australia-based Bone started examining his own life after his father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He began sharing motivational quotes on an Instagram account that now has over 1 million followers on his way to founding Achieve the Impossible and offering personal coaching and group sessions.
"I've followed Pete, and in setting up this retreat with Ritz-Carlton I thought about how I'd love to do it with someone like-minded," Rielly said. "We're good complements to each other."
The two will lead sessions together, and every participant will have an individual session with both Bone and Rielly, who felt the Valley Isle was an ideal location for the retreat.
"Maui has been my second home since elementary school," she said. "It has a very, very special spirit and energy. Every sense is awakened when you go to Maui. It's a great place to go to recharge and refresh."
The all-inclusive program is available as a bookable package with the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua starting at $4,000 including single-occupancy accommodations and $6,000 for double occupancy. There are also special rates for the retreat without accommodations and single-day attendance rates.
The retreat includes three days of optional workshops and activities, daily lunches, happy hours, themed-dinner parties and final night luau. Participants also receive discounts on the resort's spa services, 50% off parking and up to 50% off room rates prior to and following the retreat dates.
