The Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki has announced plans for a new food hall that will include eight distinct restaurants.

The Waikiki Food Hall roster includes: Milk, selling soft-serve ice cream; JTRRD Caf, whipping up a variety of smoothies; Meataly Boys, serving steaks, whole roasted chicken and other Hawaii-grown meats; Pork Tamago Onigiri, specializing in made-to-order musubi; Five Star Shrimp, offering Hawaiian garlic shrimp dishes; Honolulu Burger Co., using locally sourced meats and produce; Surfer's Caf, pouring coffee drinks in a island-themed setting; and Tap Bar, a casual bar serving Hawaiian local craft beers and artisanal cocktails.

"Food halls have become one of the hottest trends in retail, so we are eager to introduce our Waikiki Food Hall and its wide array of eateries to the Royal Hawaiian Center," Marleen Akau, Royal Hawaiian Center vice president and general manager, said in a statement.

Hawaii artist Kevin Lyons is creating an exclusive mural for the Waikiki Food Hall, which is scheduled to open this spring.
