The Westin Maui Resort and Spa has named Thomas Dante Foti as the general manager.

Foti, who spent the previous two years in the same position at the Wailea Beach Resort, will oversee operations at the resort on Kaanapali Beach operated by Marriott International.

Foti, who supervised a $115 million renovation while at Wailea Beach Resort, has also worked for Marriott International as general manager of the Renaissance Times Square in New York and Renaissance Arts Hotel in New Orleans. He also previously served as general manager of the Hilton Waikiki Beach, and earlier in his career gained experience leading food and beverage, operations, catering and convention services departments at a variety of San Francisco Bay Area properties.

"We are proud to have Thomas join the Westin Maui Resort and Spa and bring his proven leadership in the hospitality industry in Hawaii and throughout the nation to help further elevate this outstanding resort," Harris Chan, Marriott International's area vice president for Hawaii and French Polynesia, said in a statement.
