A 15-foot-tall, 4,000-pound Sugar Palace is the centerpiece of the Winter Wonderland holiday display in the Aria lobby.

Created by the resort's pastry team, the Sugar Palace is made out of edible ingredients. Executive pastry chef Mathieu Lavallee and his team spent more than four weeks crafting it.

Pressed sugar bricks, snowflakes coated in crystal sugar and blown-sugar swans are among the pieces on display. The front window alone weighs a ton.

The Sugar Palace is set in a sparkling white and silver winter landscape, designed and constructed by MGM Resorts International's event production team with Aria's horticulture and facilities teams. Hand-carved ornaments -- including carousel horses, ballerinas, pirate ships, snowflakes, swans and trains -- hang from the ceiling.

The Winter Wonderland retail area is open from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and from noon to 10 p.m. Fridays to Sundays through Jan. 5.
