Breeze Airways will begin flying to Newark.

The carrier's entry into one of the three primary New York metro area airports will begin slowly, with twice-weekly service between Newark and Charleston, W.V., beginning Nov. 14. The flight will then continue on to Orlando.

Newark will augment Breeze's operations at three smaller airports in the extended New York catchment area, joining Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y.; Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, N.Y.; and Stewart Airport in Orange County, N.Y. (about 60 miles north of the city).

Newark is one of five new destinations announced by the discount carrier on Wednesday. In November, Breeze will also operate its first flights from Daytona Beach, Fla.; Erie, Pa.; and South Bend, Ind. Service from Wilmington, N.C., will begin in February.

From Daytona, Breeze will fly to Westchester County; Hartford, Conn.; Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina; and Providence, R.I.

From Erie, Breeze will fly to Orlando. The carrier will serve Orlando and Fort Myers, Fla., from South Bend. It will connect Wilmington with Hartford, Orlando, Fort Myers and Providence.

Each of the routes from Breeze's new airports will operate twice weekly. The route launches are scheduled for either November or February.
