Joint-venture partners Delta and Korean Air will begin a Minneapolis-Seoul
route in 2019.
The airlines will use a reconfigured, three-class Delta
Boeing 777-200ER featuring the carrier's new premium economy cabin as well as the
Delta One business-class suites.
Delta didn't specify a date for the route launch, nor did it
say how frequently the route would be offered.
Minneapolis-Seoul is Delta and Korean's first joint
operation since they won approval from Korean regulators in March to upgrade
their antitrust-immune joint venture. Under the new arrangement, which also won
U.S. Department of Transportation approval, Delta and Korean can operate routes
with jets from either airline.
The Delta-Korean operation will be the lone flight between
Minneapolis and Seoul.
